Oh, hey cool - I never noticed this was here before.
For this shot, I was originally looking for bits to do something entirely different. My other half had been doing some cleaning, and there was a small, very heavy box on my desk.
Turns out, there were shotgun shells inside. That gave me a brand new idea.
"Hey, can I put these in my mouth?"
"Um, why? And don't chew, they're full of lead."
So I explained what I wanted to do. I've been trying to figure out how to work in this really cool pewter pin that my friend Lars Lunde (Lundegaard Productions) had sculpted, and hadn't found the right idea before now.
Shotgun shells were cool, but didn't really have the right look, so we pulled out some other ammo to find an object of the right size and feeling.
